Pediatric Occupational Therapy (OT) focuses on helping children gain independence in age level activities of daily living (ADLs), while additionally working on reaching motor milestones, fine motor development, visual motor skill integration, sensory integration, socialization and play skills. Pediatric Occupational Therapists work with various developmental disabilities such as: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy, behavioral difficulties, learning disabilities, neurological disorders, and injuries at birth.
Our Pediatric Occupational Therapist will complete a comprehensive evaluation with your child to assess his or her fine motor development, visual motor and visual perceptual skills, sensory processing and sensory integration skills. Based upon this comprehensive evaluation with the Occupational Therapist, an individualized plan of care will be developed targeting specific areas and create goals to assess on going progress.
Our Occupational therapists work closely and collaboratively with parents, caregivers, teachers and other allied health professionals to identify challenges, difficulties and or delays. Our Occupational Therapists will work with your child and help develop or strengthen the skills needed to perform daily activities that they may find challenging by addressing their specific motor difficulties, social, behavioral, and sensory processing capabilities.
